Statement from Belfast WolfeTone/McCracken cumann on the far right rally through Belfast city centre at the weekend.
Last Saturday Belfast saw a rally of racist thugs marauding around the city with the intention of trying to intimidate anyone in their view “not white or christian” and was planned to coincide with other similar displays being carried out in England by far-right english fascists. It has become apparent in the past few days that this was organised by loyalist paramilitaries with connections to Tommy Robinson.
In an effort to try justify their hate march a handful of idiots from the Dublin Coolock Says No campaign attended to give the impression that there was some sort of cross community element to the proceedings and a 50 year barrier had been crossed, let us be clear the only thing cross community about it was the Coolock crowd sharing bags of coke with the UDA in a pub.
What this mob carried out was in essence a pogrom against migrants and locals not of the desired colour, kids were sent out in Sandy Row to set fire to places of work and anywhere housing migrants, in conjunction with those marauding gangs in England doing the same.
We have no doubt that something of this magnitude would not have been able to get off the ground without outside help and it’s our belief british intelligence had a hand to play.
We would urge anyone thinking of joining these race rallies to think twice, it’s got nothing to do with uniting against “foreign invaders”, a Christian way of life or saving children from being raped and murdered. The only danger to our communities is coming from the British establishment that are preying on the fears and anger of the working class who have been suppressed and exploited for years, not only here in the occupied north, but throughout the western world by these people using foreign nationals as the scapegoats.
Time to start punching up at the source of our opposition and not down at those most affected by the western foreign policies that create refugees and migrants in the first place.
